Die Perspektive, der Schattenwurf oder die Farbsemantik der visuellen Kultur leben in modernsten Bildtechnologien weiter. Entgegen dem Mythos der Technikgeschichte, die suggeriert, daß neue Apparate immer besser und weiter zu sehen geben, haben diese jedoch kaum noch etwas mit der Physik des Sehens zu tun. Vielmehr sind auch diese Apparaturen, genau wie ihre historischen Vorläufer, getragen von einem dichten Gefüge aus Sehgewohnheiten und technischen Möglichkeiten. Die Bilder visueller Instrumente stellen zudem mehr dar, als ¿den Gegenstand´: sondern auch die Spuren des bildgebenden Apparates, die Werkzeuge der Präparation, technische und nicht zuletzt wirtschaftliche Utopien. Bilder als Element einer Technik zu begreifen, bedeutet also nicht, sie auf den bloßen Effekt einer spezifischen Technik zu reduzieren. Als Part von Maschinen, Apparaturen oder Instrumenten können sie gemäß der zweiten Wortbedeutung von ¿Technik´ als Felder von Handlungen und Fertigkeiten angesehen werden, als Felder, in denen die visuelle Beschreibung gleichbedeutend mit Zurichtung und Bearbeitung ist. Mit dem Thema ´´Instrumente des Sehens´´ wird somit die Frage gestellt, inwieweit Wahrnehmung zugleich auch Bearbeitung ermöglicht und Wahrnehmungstheorien demzufolge auch Handlungsregeln implizieren. Anhand von Vermeers Arbeit mit der camera obscura, Diderots Kombination von Sehsinn und Tastsinn zu einer Wahrnehmungstheorie, Freuds Mikroskop und dem Bild der Nerven, den Idealen und Realitäten der Nanotechnologie sowie anhand der Bildarbeit von Neurowissenschaftlern werden in diesem Heft Instrumente des Sehens sehr unterschiedlicher Provenienz zur Debatte gestellt. Auch der Status der Technik selbst, etwa die Umfunktionierung technischer Geräte zu nationalen und wissenschaftlichen Monumenten, spielt in diesem Zusammenhang eine wichtige Rolle. Mediterranean Fingerstyle Compositions, for Solo Guitar (buecher.de - (Teil2)) |  Produktbeschreibung (23544124): Gitarrist, Komponist und Konzertmusiker, Giovanni Palombo, ist ein ´´Crossover´´-Künstler der akustischen Musik. Neben seinen Soloauftritten als zeitgenössischer Fingerstyle Gitarrist spielt er in verschiedenen World Jazz-Ensembles wie dem Acoustic Trio (Gitarre, Vibrafon und Akkordeon) oder dem Camera Ensemble Quartett. Beide Ensembles stehen für ursprüngliche Instrumentalmusik, bestehend aus Jazz, Folkelementen und Improvisation mit einem ausgeprägten mediterranen Ansatz. Als Solo-Akustikgitarrist mit sehr melodischem Stil verbindet Palombo Jazzharmonien mit dynamischeren Elementen und lässt sein individuelles Tapping sowie perkussive Techniken mit einfließen. Palombo spielt außerdem in einigen Duos, zum Beispiel mit dem Klarinettisten Gabriele Mirabassi, dem Schlagzeuger Andrea Piccioni oder dem Sänger Clea Cotroneo in einem bluesorientierten Duo namens Blues Acustico. Palombo tritt in World Jazz-Clubs und auf Festivals auf wie dem Athens European Jazz Festival (GR), Fandango Jazz Festival (I), Gitarrenfestival Edenkoben (D), International Guitar Meeting Sarzana (I), Verviers Festival de la Guitare (B), Villa Celimontana Jazz Image (I). Er komponiert Musik für TV-Serien und Fernsehdokumentationen wie Geo & Geo und Voyager (Rai Trade). Die Filmproduktionsgesellschaft Fandango wählte Palombos Musik für den Film L´orizzonte degli eventi, der im Jahr 2005 auf dem Filmfestival in Cannes gezeigt wurde.
